It was the final weekend of matches for many leagues across Europe at the weekend and it gave Adidas the opportunity to show case the latest incarnation of their Predator football boot. After its official release earlier in the week, many Adidas endorsed players made the switch to the new boot. There were also players who have not recently been spotted in the Predator that seem to have made the switch to the new boot including Everton striker Nikica Jelavic who has been wearing Nike Tiempo Legends since his arrival from Rangers in the January transfer window.
The majority of wearers went for the lead colourway of ’Bright Blue, Running White & Infra Red’ which is the same colourway Edin Dzeko, Nani and Tom Cleverley wore at the official release. Samir Nasri, Esteban Cambiasso and Robin van Persie were a few of the big names to wear the Predator LZ over the weekend.
Although adiZero f50 wearer Diego Milito will be getting the majority of the praise for his sides 4-2 win over rivals AC Milan, it was Cambiasso’s choice of footwear that caught our eye. Inter have not had a great season and with one game to go they sit 6th in the table meaning they could miss out on Champions League football next season.
Samir Nasri could be finishing his first season with Manchester City celebrating winning the Premier League as long as all goes to plan against QPR this weekend. Before the boot was officially released Nasri had been wearing prototypes of the Predator LZ with a different Lethal Zone highlighted each week.
After being given the opportunity to have some input in to the new boot, it was no suprise to see Robin van Persie scoring a brace for Arsenal in their 3-3 draw against Norwich. Adidas have put a custom sole plate on the Dutchmans boots which is not uncommon as they did it with his previous adiPowers. His two goals at the weekend could be van Persie’s last in an Arsenal shirt as he is being continuously linked with a move away from the Emirates this summer.
